Christmas is around and you’re are perplexed as I am, having to choose the right gift for the loved ones. You will need to keep in mind that person’s liking, interests and what he/she might be wishing for as a gift. With just few days left, you can’t even think of gifts that will not take forever to acquire or to be delivered. Here is my attempt to help you with your quest for a perfect Christmas gift.

Be practical – Buy them something usable

Unless you’re buying for someone super rich who doesn’t value much for money, you can safely buy an item that the person would love to use every day. Based on your budget and the recipient’s interests, you can choose a dress, a scarf (remember, winter!), mobile phone, laptop, cosmetics or even a membership for gym/spa/beauty salon.

Cosmetics, nail polish, shoes, purse/wallet, party wear or bracelet and bangles can be a nice and practical gift for a lady this season.

DIY Gift Ideas for Christmas

If you are a go-getter and feel adventurous, you can try to make a personalized gift for that loved one. This is always going to be valued much more than what it’s worth in terms of money. Make a DIY ornament or card or lighting using candles and easy-to-find LED lights. DIY chocolate making kits can be easily ordered online or bought in your nearby shopping mall. A really adventurous friend has decided to build a ship-inside-bottle model for himself and his wife!

If wine is something you’re planning for the Christmas and New Year, make some crafty wraps around the bottles.

Similar to the above, you can build a nice name-plate or signboard for your house or for another family. Same goes for some Chinese artwork as well.

Not really a season for commercially made personalized Gifts

Not many of us like gifting a personalized gift on Christmas or New Year. Save it for some other occasion like Birthdays and Anniversaries.
